Beyond the Rules: Planning for Effective Classroom Management

In this course, you’ll move past just listing rules and explore actions that actually make a classroom feel safe, predictable, and ready for learning. You’ll start by examining why classroom management matters and what it really means, then dig into the three core pillars (expectations, routines, and responses) that form the foundation of a well-managed classroom, including how to teach routines and procedures so they actually stick. From there, you’ll use a practical framework to strengthen your own classroom management practices, piece by piece, so you leave with something you can put into practice rather than just concepts to remember. By the end of the course, you’ll select one strategy from your plan and map out exactly how you’ll use it to create a more consistent, predictable learning environment for your students.
