- Flexible: designed for busy educators who learn on their schedule
If it's not worth your time, it's not on JoltEDU.

Our Story
JoltEDU began with a simple idea: professional development should be short, focused, and meaningful. In 2019, leaders at Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 (AIU8) in Pennsylvania recognized that educators were balancing more responsibilities with less time for traditional training. Their solution was to create a microlearning platform designed by educators, for educators—one that made professional learning accessible and relevant.
What started as an 11-school pilot with just four courses and 54 participants quickly proved its value. Teachers embraced the self-paced, mobile-friendly format and the real-world relevance of each course. By 2021, JoltEDU launched publicly and evolved from an AIU8 pilot into a trusted professional learning platform serving thousands of educators nationwide.
Today, JoltEDU remains deeply connected to AIU8 and committed to delivering flexible, practical professional development that meets educators where they are.
Our Leadership and Team
We continue to expand our course offerings and partnerships to meet educators’ evolving needs, adding new authors, bundles, and interactive tools each year. JoltEDU’s goal remains the same: to make professional learning simpler, smarter, and more effective for every educator.
